Program

In creative movement, students will develop gross and locomotor skills, learn how to take a class in a group setting, and enjoy a variety of movement activities. Apparatuses such as scarves, streamers, parachutes, poi balls, and musical instruments will be used to inspire creativity and develop coordination.
Students enrolled in pre ballet and ballet I/II will be introduced to classical ballet technique and terminology, learn formal ballet class etiquette, increase flexibility by stretching, and work on proper body alignment.
Through the study of tap, students will learn the connection between their classical technique and other forms of dance. Basic tap skills and rhythmic patterns will be introduced and reinforced.
In contemporary dance, students will be introduced to a variety of dance styles such as jazz, modern, and musical theater. Ballet students will find this opportunity a great way to make connections between their ballet training and other forms of dance.
